Acclaimed for her deep expertise in EU copyright law, AI, and the liability of online intermediaries, Sophie also advises clients on complex content acquisition strategies, including music licensing and other entertainment industry matters that require a nuanced understanding of the European cultural landscape. She advises some of the biggest names in social media, audio, TV, VOD, music, books, UGC, and videogame content on new product features, safe harbor rules, copyright claims, content acquisition strategies, and online regulations.
A regular visitor in Brussels where she grew up, she is well attuned to the complex legislative, political, and regulatory environment for the copyright sector at the international, EU, and Member State levels and often advises legal and policy teams on media and copyright developments, including EU law transposition decisions, in Paris and Brussels. She is a member of the British Literary & Artistic Copyright Association, spoke about AI at ALAI’s last edition in Paris, and taught a course on European and International copyright law at her alma mater, the Faculté Jean Monnet in Paris.
