Jamie Thomas is Co-Chair of Gibson Dunn’s Global Finance Practice Group and heads the finance and restructuring practice in the firm’s Singapore office. He is a recognised leader in his field and has worked on many award-winning finance and restructuring transactions in the Asia-Pacific region.
Jamie regularly represents private equity sponsors, banks, other financial institutions and corporates in structuring and negotiating complex cross-border and domestic finance transactions, special situations, insolvencies and restructurings using the latest financing techniques including direct lending, DIP financing, asset-backed lending, structured lending, US-style Term Loan B, bank/bond deals, unitranche and crypto lending.
He has considerable expertise in reserves-based and other resource-related financings, project financings, sustainable financings and complex finance and restructuring transactions in emerging markets.
In addition, he advises funds and their portfolio companies on pre-IPO financings, fund financings (subscription, NAV and hybrid), direct lending, structured products and OTC derivative transactions, including credit default swaps, equity derivatives and stock-lending transactions.
Jamie is Chair of the Indonesian Steering Committee of the Asia Pacific Loan Market Association (APLMA) and sits on the APLMA Singapore and India Documentation Committee. He is also a member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA).
