Simon specialises in all major forms of dispute resolution of construction and engineering disputes including litigation, arbitration, adjudication and mediation. With over 30 years’ post-qualification experience, Simon is ranked amongst the top construction solicitors in the industry and his known for both his legal ability and for his commitment and knowledge of the construction industry. Simon is experienced in all main industry contracts as well as numerous bespoke forms. Simon is a recognised authority on dispute resolution within the industry and has prepared and conducted many major cases at senior level in the Technology and Construction Court (over twenty reported decisions including the Court of Appeal), involved running numerous international arbitrations and adjudications. He has acted in well over 140 adjudications over the last 19 years, 8 of which have been reported at enforcement stage. Simon is an accredited Chartered Arbitrator and Adjudicator with the TeCSA and RICS panels and sits as such.

Professional Memberships

Immediate past chairman of the Technology and Construction Solicitors’ Association, a Visiting Lecturer at the Centre of Construction, at King’s College London. He has an occasional column with Building magazine and has contributed to numerous other legal and construction journals. He is a Committee Member of the Society of Construction Arbitrators, founder Associate Member of the Planning Engineers Organisation, the DRBF, fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, fellow of the Forum for the Built Environment, Member of the LCIA, liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Arbitrators. Simon was a key figure in TeCSA's eDisclosure Protocol and the revised Pre-Action Protocol Revision in 2016. He also led the TeCSA Technical Course for many years.


A solicitor with an honours degree in Law (University of Hertfordshire), Simon then studied his finals at the College of Law in Guildford. After a time spent working on construction sites in the industry Simon qualified as a solicitor and has specialised in construction and engineering disputes generated by the industry all his professional career. Simon is also a chartered arbitrator, panel adjudicator and CEDR trained mediator.


Simon’s interests are his family, motorcycles, cars, tractors, restoring buildings, power generation and architecture.
