Simon Tingle

Simon Tingle is a Partner and heads up our Regulatory team.

As a Solicitor Advocate, Simon regularly appears in cases before the criminal courts, and in inquests and public inquiries. He has been instructed on some of the highest-profile regulatory cases, and is frequently asked to support investigations, enforcement and prosecutions. Simon also advises on compliance matters, providing training and reviewing corporate governance, resilience and liability risk.

Simon prides himself on bringing investigations to an early conclusion, and generally providing practical and commercial legal advice. He has recently successfully defended prosecutions brought by the HSE and the CPS, following a major environmental incident and a significant product safety matter respectively.

Simon has particular expertise in the retail, transport and manufacturing sectors, and has been repeatedly recognised by established legal directories as a ‘Rising Star’ and someone who manages big clients extremely well.

Recent experience includes:

- Successfully defending a large distribution and logistics business following a HSE prosecution following near-fatal crush injuries to employees.

- Providing retained service to listed retailer across health, safety, environment, product, food and consumer law, which included approval of UK green claims policy.

- Persuading Natural Resources Wales that there was no case to answer against a large transport business in relation to a major environmental disaster.

- Successfully persuading the OPSS not to bring enforcement following an investigation relating to non-compliance with product legislation.
