Simon Gabriel specializes in representing parties in complex disputes and regularly sits as arbitrator. He has participated in over 100 international arbitrations and numerous state court litigations and is considered as “Thought Leader” in international arbitration by Global Arbitration Review and Who’s Who Legal (2019, 2020, 2021).
Before founding Gabriel Arbitration in 2012, Simon Gabriel was a member of the dispute resolution group of a major international law firm.
Simon studied law at the Universities of Berne (CH) and British Columbia in Vancouver (CDN). He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Lucerne (CH) and an LL.M. in Advocacy from the University of Strathclyde (UK). University of Lucerne has appointed Simon as lecturer for “international arbitration” (2016).
Simon is the President of the ICC Swiss Commission of Arbitration and ADR (since March 2023) and Swiss delegate in the ICC Commission of Arbitration and ADR in Paris. Moreover, he is acknowledged and listed as arbitrator of ICC Switzerland, Vienna International Arbitral Centre, Russian Arbitration Association and Asian International Arbitration Centre.
Simon publishes on a regular basis on subjects of international arbitration. His publications include contributions in leading commentaries on Swiss arbitration law.
