Shreyas Jayasimha is an experienced legal professional with over 25 years of experience in litigation, domestic and international dispute resolution. A graduate of the National Law School of India University and a Chevening Scholar from the University of Warwick, he has advised and represented clients in various industrial sectors before Tribunals, High Courts, and the Supreme Court of India. Shreyas is a trained mediator and has been appointed as an arbitrator both in India and internationally. He has also been a thought leader in technology law.
Shreyas has acted as co-counsel for the Republic of India in significant investment treaty arbitrations and has represented clients in domestic and international commercial arbitrations. He has been involved in arbitration-related Court proceedings, including a declaration on behalf of India before a US District Court under the India-Mauritius BIT. He has served on the Ministry of Law & Justice’s expert committee on arbitration reforms and contributed to establishing an arbitral center.
Shreyas regularly participates in deliberations of the Working Group III on investor state dispute settlements. He teaches arbitration at Manipal Law School, KEIO University, and National Law School, India. Additionally, he is an executive committee member of FIAA, National Coordinator for UNCCI, and a former MCIA Council member. Shreyas co-founded the Aarna Law, Jayasimha Foundation, Bengaluru and Simha Law, which is licensed to advise on all matters of Indian law at Maxwell Chamber Suites, Singapore.
Shreyas is the only India-based representative of ICC-FraudNet, which formed the Asset Recovery Group India (ARGI) to pursue substantial value cross-border asset recovery claims for Indian banks and other creditors.
Shreyas is also the Vice-Chair of LAWASIA UNCITRAL Committee and regularly participates in deliberations of the Working Group – III on investor state dispute settlement.
