Shaun Brown

Shaun is a partner with nNovation LLP. His practice incorporates several areas related to privacy and data protection, including privacy legislation in the private, public and health sectors, Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation, the Unsolicited Telecommunications Rules, provincial consumer protection legislation, and IT contracts. Shaun’s work includes advising on regulatory compliance matters, data breach coaching, representing clients before privacy commissioners and the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission, and drafting commercial IT agreements. Shaun is known for providing guidance and advice that is practical, efficient, and focussed on the business needs of his clients.

Shaun has over 20 years’ experience in the privacy field: he began his career as a policy analyst in the federal government working on the development and implementation of privacy and anti-spam legislation, before attending law school and practicing as a lawyer, first in a national firm, and then with nNovation LLP.

Shaun is a co-author of The Law of Privacy in Canada, a ThomsonReuters publication that covers all areas of privacy law in Canada.
