Sharon has over 20 years of experience and brings a holistic perspective on transactions due to her wide experience advising on complex transactions in Zambia.

She acts for a wide range of clients across various industry sectors such as Mining, Energy and Utilities, Financial Services and Agriculture and Forestry. Sharon’s experience and practice covers a broad range of areas, including Mergers and Acquisitions; Disposals, Debt and Equity Capital Markets, Banking and Finance, Corporate Restructuring, Joint Ventures, Project Development, Project Finance, Restructuring and Insolvency across diverse industry sectors.

She has been lead advisor on some of Zambia’s most significant transactions due to her in depth knowledge of the regulatory and commercial landscape, multi-disciplinary expertise, responsiveness and strong track record working on complex transactions.

Sharon has worked on several award-winning, first-in-market and pathfinding transactions in Zambia including:

(i) ZCCM IH: the first conversion of an equity interest in Kansanshi Mines Plc a leading mining company and subsidiary of First Quantum Mines into a life of mine royalty.

(ii) Copperbelt Energy Corporation PLC and CEC Renewables Limited: the first green bond issuance structured as a project finance bond to finance a captive renewable energy project by a subsidiary of Zambia’s leading independent power distributor CEC Plc.

(iii) Itezhi Tezhi Hydro Power and Transmission Power: Local advisor to a syndicate of lenders comprising AFDB, FMO, Proparco, and the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) on a USD 142 million project financing of the 120MW Itezhi Tezhi Hydro Power and Transmission Line project.
