Shannon Skinner

Practice Areas

Shannon's practice centers on commercial real estate and financing transactions. Her experience includes the acquisition, disposition and financing (construction and permanent) of office buildings, industrial properties, retail centers, hotels and mixed use developments. She represents companies in the acquisition, development, leasing and disposition of their real estate holdings. She has worked on a wide range of matters, including data center developments, complex redevelopment projects and multi-state portfolio transactions. Her practice includes leasing, representing landlords and tenants in leasing office and other property types, as well as build to suit projects. She has represented many lenders in making permanent and construction loans, including multi-lender facilities and developing lending policies and forms. The restructure, workout and exercise of remedies for troubled loans is also a part of her practice. In addition, she has significant experience in public/private developments that are key to urban renewal projects.

Shannon is the former editor for the American Bar Association magazine Probate & Property and is the former co-chair of the Joint Editorial Board for Uniform Real Property Acts. She is a fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and the past chair of the Association for Real Property and Infrastructure. She has served on the Washington State Bar Association’s Real Property Probate & Trust Law Section’s Executive Committee, the ABA Real Property, Trusts & Estate Law Section Council and the board of CREW Seattle. In addition, she is the author of “The New ALTA Title Insurance Policies: Making the Leap from 1970 to the 21st Century,” 23 The Practical Real Estate Lawyer 29 (September 2007); “A Practical Guide to Title Review, “ 21 The Practical Real Estate Lawyer 35 (July 2005) and “A Practical Guide to Survey Review,” 9 The Practical Real Estate Lawyer 45 (1993), and a co-author of the “Powers of Attorney in Real Estate Transactions” chapter in The Washington Real Property Deskbook.
