He has a long-established practice in corporate and financial crime, acting for companies and professionals in criminal, regulatory, and disciplinary proceedings, often where parallel investigations arise. His background in serious crime underpins his broader work, with frequent instructions involving professionals accused of fraud or sexual offences. Clients value his calm, meticulous approach and ability to manage complex technical evidence with precision.

With over 25 years’ experience in regulatory law, he represents doctors, lawyers, FCA-regulated persons and entities, accountants, other professionals and companies in high-stakes cases attracting concurrent police and regulatory scrutiny. He served as Legal Adviser to the GMC’s review of gross negligence manslaughter and culpable homicide in medical practice. His sports law practice includes representing athletes facing disciplinary action, and he holds judicial roles with the Lawn Tennis Association and the British Boxing Board of Control.

Selva is also a recognised leader in private prosecutions, including landmark first cases for major regulators.
