Sébastien Vézina practises securities law with a focus on resource and mining companies. He advises on business combinations, contested take-over bids, corporate finance, partnerships and revenue-based financing including metal streaming and royalty transactions, as well as on issues related to infrastructure, shipping, energy, telecommunications and social acceptability. He is involved in all phases of the mining cycle, from exploration, project development and extraction, to mine closure. He advises boards of directors and special committees on securities law compliance matters, corporate governance, and related party transactions.
Sébastien’s corporate practice encompasses mergers and acquisitions of public and private companies, public and private financings as well as in investments and buy-outs in the private sector, including U.S./Canada cross-border transactions and international transactions, and the negotiation of various commercial agreements.
In addition, he has a practice in sports law that focuses on sports franchise investment and acquisitions, endorsements, commercial transactions, team operations, protection of intellectual property and enforcement, staging and exploiting live sports and other events, media and public affairs, and other types of professional sports ventures.
