Scott A. Wolfson is a Founder at Wolfson Bolton Kochis and serves as Practice Lead for the firm's Corporate Restructuring & Bankruptcy and ADR/Facilitation practices. Based in metropolitan Detroit, Michigan, Scott represents businesses, creditors, lenders, fiduciaries, and buyers and sellers of assets in complex financial distress matters—both in court and out of court—including Chapter 11 proceedings, bankruptcy litigation, receiverships, and distressed transactions.
Scott’s practice is national in scope and includes significant experience advising automotive companies and suppliers on supply chain contract issues and continuity-of-supply challenges involving distressed, non-performing, or bankrupt counterparties. He also serves as a certified mediator and a commercial arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association, helping parties resolve high-stakes disputes efficiently and strategically.
He is particularly known for advising in high-stakes automotive and supply chain restructurings where operational continuity is critical. He is also a trusted fiduciary – for example, he served as the Liquidating Trustee of the Boyce Hydro Liquidating Trust following the devastating floods in Midland, MI and the surrounding community where he collected and distributed millions of dollars to thousands of flood survivors and creditors. He has also served as a court-appointed receiver.
