Ruth advises regulated entities and corporate clients on complex commercial transactions and regulatory matters in Barbados. Her practice includes commercial lending, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, and cross-border advisory work. She is recognised for her structured, methodical approach to time-sensitive transactions, efficiently delivering commercially sound advice. Her work includes transactions and advisory mandates of significance within the financial services sector of Barbados.
Henry joined Chancery Chambers in 2020 after practising for several years in property and estates law, where she developed a strong technical foundation that continues to inform her cross-disciplinary approach to commercial work.
Within the firm, Ruth plays a leadership role in guiding Chancery Chambers’ response to specific evolving international regulatory frameworks. She also demonstrates a strong commitment to professional development, spearheading the firm’s internship programme and contributing to internal training and mentorship initiatives.
Ruth holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (Honours) from the University of the West Indies and a Legal Education Certificate from the Hugh Wooding Law School. She holds a Master’s degree with Distinction from University College London, where her dissertation focused on cryptocurrency regulation in Barbados. She holds the TEP (Trust and Estate Practitioner) designation and has undertaken further professional training in loan documentation and tax treaties. A keen writer, she regularly publishes on corporate and commercial law topics and has contributed to professional discourse through writing and conference presentation.
