Russell Blythe, a partner in the Intellectual Property, Patent, Trademark and Copyright Litigation practice, focuses his practice in litigation as well as navigating prelitigation disputes to help clients advance their business goals. Russell has particular skill in disputes involving patent infringement, trademark infringement, unfair competition and false advertising. His experience includes a variety of industries and technologies, including energy, consumer products, food and beverage, and polymer chemistry.
An experienced litigator, Russell handles technical depositions, claim construction and dispositive motion hearings, preliminary injunction proceedings, and trials for clients in a variety of industries. He is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, where he represents clients in inter partes reviews as an alternative to, or in parallel with, district court litigation. Russell also counsels companies in complex false advertising disputes. He represents clients with matters before the National Advertising Division of the Better Business Bureau, and regularly consults on appropriate substantiation of advertising claims. His experience further includes actions brought by the Federal Trade Commission.
Mr. Blythe is a seven-time recipient of our firm’s Pro Bono Service Award, and received Common Cause Georgia’s Outstanding Citizen Award in 2009. Russell is a member of the Georgia Tech IP Advisory Board and the Atlanta IP Inn of Court.
