Founding partner of the firm, she is head of the Environmental and Regulatory practice for investment projects, with a special focus in the real estate and resort development, food and beverage, industrial and film and entertainment. She has focused on issues related to the environment, tourism, and land use, by creating strategies to achieve sustainability and feasibility in construction and operation of important investment projects in the different economical fields.

She has represented over 70 projects with tax exemptions approvals, comprehensive licensing with investments over US$2 Billion. Permits, polluted sites, protected areas, urban, land use, environmental permits, water, agrobusiness, waste and incentives to investments are her best areas of practice.

Being graduated from National University of Lomas de Zamora, Buenos Aires – Argentina (2001), with a Master on Environmental Law (2010) from University of the Basque Country (EHU UPV/EHU), Spain, as well as with a Postgraduate Degree of Executive Development from Barna Business School, she is also Internal Auditor ISO 14001 “Bureau Veritas” and Registered Environmental Consultant approved by the Ministry of Environment of the Dominican Republic, as the coordinator of environmental impact assessments.

Partner in charge of the Environmental, Real Estate and Hospitality practice.

Along her professional career path, she has focused on environmental consultancy: complex environmental permits and impact assessment, social conflicts, processes, land use, land planning, resort development, tourism, special tax regimes and general compliance for very important projects.

Romina advised clients not only on environmental matters, but also on tax incentives, comprehensive licensing, and regulatory and construction issues. She designed the structure and strategy for the development of more than 300 investment projects in the Dominican Republic within the tourist, real estate, industrial and movie sectors. Active projects under development or preliminary planning represent investments for more than US$4MM Billion.

• Recognized by the Dominican Government as the pioneer service firm in achieving carbon neutrality in year 2022.

As ECORED Legal Director, a business association that promotes sustainability in businesses, she led the process to draft a proposal of law on waste, still under discussion in congress.

Publications

Coauthored the book Legal Protection of Tourists (Bs. As., Ed. Ladevi 2018) and several other magazines including Environment and Climate Change – International Comparative Legal Guide and several other papers in Environmental Management among others.
