Roger is one of the leading practitioners in costs law, funding and related civil procedure issues. He has acted in many of the leading cases and regularly appears in the highest courts on important and test cases, including some of the few such cases heard in the Supreme Court. He represented the successful Appellant in the Supreme Court in the leading QOCS case of Ho v Adelekun and recently appeared there for the Appellant in Menzies v Oakwood.
Roger is highly experienced in all issues of costs and funding and related civil procedure, professional negligence, disciplinary, and commercial matters. He has been instructed in many of the leading group litigation and CAT collective action cases advising on issues of funding and has drafted and advised on a wide range of funding and litigation management agreements.
Roger has also appeared in many of the leading appellate cases in relation to the construction and application of the CPR and related statutes, including Part 36, fixed costs rules, costs and case management and the operation of pre-action protocols as well as advising a wide range of representative and institutional bodies in relation to their strategic approach to rule changes.
He also regularly appears in some of the most complex and contentious solicitor client disputes.
