Mr. Nydegger is a founding partner of Workman Nydegger and is now serving as Senior Counsel. Early in his career he worked in litigation and was part of the firm’s team that successfully conducted several of the first major patent litigation matters handled by Workman Nydegger. He later developed an extensive prosecution and transactional practice in a variety of technology sectors. His work included patent preparation and prosecution, trademark registration practice, preparation of opinions, licensing, strategic IP portfolio management, and conducting due diligence for IP portfolios. He previously managed many of the firm’s major clients in the electronics, telecommunications, software, information science, e-commerce and medical device technologies. He has served as a mediator and arbitrator in several major IP cases. He also worked closely with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in the development of several important policy initiatives, including the drafting of several widely used guidelines for the use of its patent examining corp, and served as the Chair of the Patent Public Advisory Committee of the USPTO. He continues to assist the USPTO and is currently involved in its training of new patent examiners.
