Richard H. Nicolaides, Jr.

Richard is a partner at Nicolaides Fink Thorpe Michaelides Sullivan LLP, focusing exclusively on the complex business and legal issues of the global insurance industry. Richard works with insurers in Bermuda, London, Tokyo, and the United States to evaluate insurance coverage issues and resolve insurance coverage disputes involving complex risks and exposures arising under a variety of insurance products. He represents his clients in federal and state trial and appellate courts, as well as before arbitration panels across the United States and abroad. Additionally, he advises his clients on policy drafting and claims handling practices.

Richard is a Senior Lecturing Fellow at Duke University School of Law and frequently lectures on emerging risks and insurance-related issues to insurance industry professionals worldwide. He also serves as the president of AIDA US, the U.S. chapter of the Association Internationale de Droit des Assurances (the International Insurance Law Association).

Richard is a member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI), Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, and Japan America Society of Chicago.
