Pedro Pablo Vergara-Varas obtained his law degree from the University of Chile in 1983. He has worked as a litigator since the beginning of his career, representing several Chilean banks in court proceedings and advising both domestic and international companies.
Until 1997, he served as an Assistant Professor of Civil Law at the University of Chile.
Since 1999, he has been a Professor of Civil Law at Universidad del Desarrollo.
He has taught several specialised courses on civil law matters and chaired the Professional Training Committee of the Chilean Bar Association.
He is the author of various articles and monographs.
He has also contributed to the preparation of new editions of the Civil Law books authored by Pablo Rodríguez Grez.
He has been an arbitrator at CAM Santiago since 2009.
He is a member of the Chilean Bar Association and has served on its Council since 2011. He was President of the Association from 2024 to 2025.
