Paul H. Shur is a Shareholder in Becker’s Corporate Practice and heads the Banking and Finance Group. Mr. Shur focuses his practice in all aspects of commercial and financial transactions and related litigation enforcing and defending creditors’ rights. Having more than 30 years of experience, he has represented a broad array of clients in secured lending, asset based lending, commercial finance, debt restructuring, sales and lease transactions, negotiable instruments, letters of credit, documents of title, real estate secured transactions, and title insurance defense.
A thought leader in his field, Mr. Shur has written extensively on a variety of topics including e-signatures and e-documents, commercial transactions, second lien financing, Uniform Commercial Code, equipment finance, and loan participation; published in the Banking Law Journal, Uniform Commercial Code Journal and ABFJournal. Additionally, he is an avid speaker at industry seminars and conferences throughout New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania on topics of interest to clients and continuing legal education.
Mr. Shur is a Fellow of the prestigious American College of Commercial Finance Attorneys and serves as Education Chair to the New Jersey and New York Chapters of the Secured Finance Network. He also serves as a member of the Executive Board of Directors and Education Chair of the New York Institute of Credit, and as Board Member Emeritus and Chair of the Banking Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association.

• Representation of Uniform Commercial Code secured lender recipient of a pledge of all the limited liability membership interests in the entity owning a major hotel against a claim by another lender alleging a competing security interest in a portion of the same collateral via standstill and subordination agreement and complaint.
• Representation of a Bank lender in asset based and real estate loans to a domestic corporation in the restaurant supply business and its real estate holding affiliate, including extensive re-documentation of financial covenants, creation of a new delayed draw term loan to enable acquisition of new businesses and cross-collateralization issues.
• Representation of a lender in a revolving loan transaction to a domestic limited liability company manufacturing dietary supplements where collateral included several intellectual property interests and a pledge of the assets and ownership interests of Borrower’s subsidiary organized under English law.
• Representation of owner/contractor/Borrower engaged in construction of foreign based luxury condominiums in construction loan closing requiring attention to legal issues under conflict of law principles.
• Representation of a bank lender in a revolving loan transaction to domestic firm engaged in the construction and licensing of billboard and billboard advertisements involving twenty (20) separate real properties leased to Borrower and negotiation of subordination and intercreditor issues with landlords.
