Mr. Stewart is a founding member of Stewart Robbins Brown & Altazan, LLC, and has substantial experience representing debtors, committees, fiduciaries, and other significant parties in complex commercial bankruptcy cases. Mr. Stewart was recently inducted as a Fellow into the 34th Class of the American College of Bankruptcy, is a Certified Business Bankruptcy Specialist and sits on the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization, holds the Advocate designation from the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, and is perennially recognized by Chambers and Partners (Bank 1), Super Lawyers, Top Attorneys, Best Lawyers, U.S. Leaders in Law, and others as an outstanding commercial bankruptcy attorney. Mr. Stewart frequently writes and lectures on bankruptcy topics, having most recently presented as a panelist at the 2023 Louisiana State Bar Association bankruptcy seminar on Bankruptcy from a Trustee's Perspective. Mr. Stewart is a member of the Louisiana State Bar and is admitted to practice in all Louisiana Bankruptcy Courts, the Northern and Southern districts of Texas, and the District of Colorado.
Mr. Stewart clerked for the Honorable Louis M. Phillips, United States Bankruptcy Judge, Middle District of Louisiana from 1998 - 2000.
Prior to forming Stewart Robbins Brown & Altazan LLC, Mr. Stewart practiced with the firm of Taylor, Porter, Brooks, & Phillips, LLP and was a partner in the firm of Milling Benson, LLP.
