Career
Oswaldo heads the Litigation and Antitrust Departments at Santos Burbano de Lara. He has participated in more than 50 arbitrations as counsel, arbitrator, or secretary, conducted under various institutional rules, such as ICSID, ICC, UNCITRAL, and those of the most important arbitration centres in Ecuador. His experience encompasses arbitration disputes in mining, construction, retail, and telecommunications, among others. He has also participated in several high-profile cases before the Ecuadorian courts involving State liability, contractual liability, and torts.
Oswaldo is also well-experienced in Competition Law matters, regularly advising some of the most important companies operating in Ecuador in matters before the Ecuadorian Competition Authority.
He is a lecturer at Universidad San Francisco de Quito, where he heads the Business Law department.
