Appears regularly in the highest profile health and safety and manslaughter prosecutions: Sellafield and Network Rail appeals; Eastbourne pier prosecution; Marks and Spencer asbestos prosecution; British Cycling prosecution; Falcon Crane prosecution; Hatfield train crash; prosecution arising from the Averies waste sites fires. He specialises in all aspects of product liability, acting for both claimants and defendants. He has particular experience of group actions including data protection and environmental group actions, as well as product liability claims. Examples of such group actions include: the VW NOx Emissions litigation; Lloyd v Google; the OCENSA pipeline litigation; the Mercedes NOx emissions litigation; Lloyds / HBOS litigation; the Metal on Metal hip litigation; the Para Red and Sudan Red food contamination litigation; the Lariam litigation; PIP litigation. He also regularly appears in major inquests and inquiries: Grenfell Tower Inquiry; Vauxhall helicopter crash; Avonmouth Bridge disaster; Potters Bar rail accident; Basildon hospital legionella outbreak. He has considerable experience of criminal and civil environmental claims, including waste management and pollution claims.

MA (Oxon). President of the Oxford Union (1990). Advocacy prize ICSL (1992). Called 1992. Chief Examiner Civil Litigation BPTC (2015-2019). Trustee of the Lambeth Law Centre (2010-2019). Appointed KC in 2014. Appointed as a Recorder in 2020.
