Olga Torres

Olga Torres is the Founder and Managing Member of Torres Trade Law, PLLC. She is a nationally recognized international trade and national security attorney with a leading practice in export controls and economic sanctions. She also regularly advises on matters before the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) as well as measures to mitigate Foreign Ownership, Control, or Influence (FOCI) in cross-border mergers and acquisitions. She represents U.S. and multinational companies, investors, private equity firms, defense contractors, and technology companies on complex cross-border transactions, sensitive defense and technology matters, and government-facing investigations involving national security and trade compliance risk. Ms. Torres is known for practical, business-oriented legal strategies in matters involving the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), sanctions administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), customs laws and regulations, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), and other anti-bribery laws. Her experience includes internal investigations, government enforcement matters, voluntary disclosures, compliance audits, risk assessments, compliance program development, and training.

Her CFIUS and FOCI work includes transaction strategy, clearance planning, mitigation negotiations, and national security counseling for clients in highly regulated sectors, including defense, aerospace, telecommunications, semiconductors, satellites, and emerging technologies. Ms. Torres has received repeated national recognition for her high-profile CFIUS practice, including recognition by Foreign Investment Watch in 2023, 2025, and 2026.

Ms. Torres earned her J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law and her B.A. in Government from the University of Texas at Austin. She is licensed to practice law in Washington, D.C., Texas, and Pennsylvania.
