Nikolaos is a Partner at Politis & Partners, with a leading role across the firm’s Banking & Finance, Energy and Litigation practices. Admitted to practice before the Greek Supreme Court, he advises and represents both domestic and international clients on complex transactional, regulatory and contentious matters. He is widely recognised for combining strong legal expertise with commercial awareness, consistently delivering pragmatic and business-oriented solutions.

In Banking & Finance, Nikolaos has extensive experience advising lenders, sponsors and investors on a wide range of financing structures, including project finance, acquisition finance and structured transactions. He has acted as lenders’ legal advisor in numerous high-value financings across sectors such as hospitality, healthcare, infrastructure and telecommunications. His recent work includes advising Greek and international banks on project financings for renewable energy projects, hotel developments and PPP concessions, as well as cross-border financings and acquisitions. He has also supported major telecommunications infrastructure projects, including fibre-optic networks and submarine cable installations.

Nikolaos has a strong track record in the Energy sector, advising on the full lifecycle of energy projects, from development and licensing to financing and disposal. His experience spans renewable energy projects, including wind and photovoltaic portfolios, as well as regulatory and compliance matters. He regularly leads legal due diligence exercises in project financings and M&A transactions and has advised on significant portfolio sales and investments involving international funds and developers across Greece and abroad.

As Head of the firm’s Litigation practice, Nikolaos is an accomplished litigator with substantial experience in high-stakes disputes. He regularly represents banks, investors and multinational corporations in complex commercial, corporate and banking litigation, as well as arbitration proceedings. His expertise covers a broad range of disputes, including contractual, tort, distribution and consumer protection matters. He has successfully handled cases at all levels of the Greek courts, including the Supreme Court, and has acted for prominent clients such as the European Commission, multinational pharmaceutical companies, and major industrial and energy groups.

Nikolaos holds an LL.M. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in International Finance and Business Law and an LL.M. from King’s College London in European Union Law, as well as an LL.B. from the University of Athens. He is a member of the Athens Bar Association and is fluent in English and French.
