Nicolás Alvarado

Nicolás Alvarado is the founding partner of Alvarado & Cía., a boutique law firm specializing in tax law, known for the direct and ongoing involvement of its partners in clients’ matters. This approach enables the development of innovative and efficient solutions tailored to the specific needs of each client in a globalized and dynamic world.

Nicolás has over 15 years of extensive experience in the tax and corporate fields, offering his clients dynamism and sophistication to meet their goals and needs. He has specialized in tax advisory services for a wide range of businesses and industries, both domestic and international, including local and international taxation, corporate reorganizations, application of international treaties, real estate and investment projects, capital markets, among others.

He has also focused his practice on tax consulting for family-owned businesses and individuals, nonprofit institutions, and on audits and administrative procedures before the tax authority, as well as litigation before the Tax and Customs Courts.

In the professional field, he worked as a tax attorney at Ernst & Young (2011–2013), senior associate in the tax team at Barros & Errázuriz Abogados (2013–2021), as a partner in the tax area at MBC Abogados (2021–2023), and as the founding partner at Alvarado Abogados (2023- to date).

In the academic sphere, he is a professor of Tax Law at the Faculty of Law of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, and he also lectures in the Master’s programmes in Tax Management and Administration, and in Business Management, both at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez.
