Nick Arron

Nick is a solicitor and lead partner in the Gambling Team, having responsibility for Operating, Personal and Premises Licences under the Gambling Act 2005, preparing and submitting applications and advising on compliance. Nick and his team engage daily with the Gambling Commission and Licensing Authorities. He has acted in a number of Reviews of both Operating Licences and Personal Management Licences.

He acts for large corporations and single site operators, including bookmakers, bingo operators, arcades, software developers and gaming machine manufacturers and suppliers. His clients include large UK arcade and bingo businesses and one of Europe’s most significant gambling groups – Gauselmann.

He acts for trade associations and sits on a number of his clients Gambling Risk & Compliance Management Committees. He is retained as legal advisor by the Bingo Association and sits on the Bourne Leisure Group Gambling Risk Management Committee.

Institute of Licensing

Contributes regularly to the trade press, including The Publican’s Morning Advertiser, Institute of Licensing Journal and the BII Business magazine. Co-wrote the definitive pocket guide to the new licensing act, called The Licensed Trade Guide.

He has written gambling law qualifications and regularly delivers training to local authority officers, councillors, the police, operators, Personal Management Licence Holders and staff involved in gaming, betting and lotteries.

Nick’s IT knowledge led him to conceiving, developing and refining a secure on-line portal to the firms database for clients which is effective and acts as a 24/7 window on their files held at the firm.
