Nancy C. Richmond is a partner at A.Y. Strauss and Chair of the firm’s Family Law Practice Group. With more than 25 years of experience, Nancy represents individuals and families across a wide range of matrimonial and family law matters. She brings a thoughtful, resolution-focused approach to every case, guiding clients through complex legal and personal challenges with clarity and compassion.

Known for her attention to detail, diligent preparation, and individualized strategies, Nancy is a fierce advocate who supports her clients through some of life’s most difficult transitions. She is a trusted partner both in and out of the courtroom. Nancy is widely respected for her ability to tailor her legal strategy to each client’s unique needs while maintaining a long-term, solutions-oriented perspective. Her work is marked by discretion, integrity, and a commitment to building lasting client relationships.

A Certified Matrimonial Law Attorney, Nancy is recognized for her experience in handling litigation as well as resolving a variety of family law matters. She served a four-year term on the District XII Fee Arbitration Committee, which included her serving as Vice Chair. Nancy is also an Early Settlement Panelist for the Superior Court of New Jersey, Family Part, in both Union and Morris Counties. She frequently lectures for organizations such as the National Business Institute.

Prior to joining A.Y. Strauss, Nancy was a partner at a well-regarded regional firm, where she managed a robust caseload spanning complex, high-net-worth, and mid-income family law matters. Earlier in her career, she completed the prestigious Family Law Trial Advocacy Institute and served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable John D’Amico, J.S.C., in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Family Part, Monmouth County.
