Mugambi Nandi is the Senior Partner at KN Law LLP, with oversight over the firm's office in London, United Kingdom. He has spent over 20 years in legal practice, with substantial legal and boardroom experience as in-house counsel and a non-executive director for multiple private as well as public sector organisations. Mugambi has practised extensively in M&A, corporate restructurings, listings, privatisation, debt and capital raising, private equity transactions, competition law, governance, and capital markets. He has acted as lead legal advisor in some of the firm’s most significant work, such as the sale of a controlling stake in Almasi Beverages Limited and Nairobi Bottlers Limited by Centum Investment Company Plc, in a transaction valued at close to USD 200 million.
Mugambi started off his career as in-house counsel in an insurance company before joining (now Dentons) Hamilton Harrison & Mathews. He later served as Manager, Legal Affairs/Company Secretary for Uchumi Supermarkets Plc, at that time a blue chip regional retail giant; Legal Counsel for the East African Development Bank; and Head of Legal/Company Secretary for Stanbic Bank (part of Standard Bank of South Africa), before venturing into private practice. He is an Advocate (Kenya) and a Solicitor (England and Wales).
