Miguel Pinto Cardoso joined VdA in 2013. Partner and Head of Practice of Litigation & Arbitration, Miguel focuses his practice in arbitration, both national and international, and commercial litigation (finance disputes, shareholder disputes, construction disputes, distribution disputes, professional negligence disputes).

He is often appointed as arbitrator.

He has also a considerable experience in criminal litigation and labour litigation.

Admitted to the Portuguese Bar Association.

Member of the board of the Lisbon Commercial Association Arbitration Centre (2013).

Founder member and member of the board of the Dispute Resolution Lawyer Association (2012 to date).

Founder member of the Portuguese Arbitration Association (2006).

Member of the Board of Directors of the "Associação Portuguesa de Centros Comerciais" (Portuguese Shopping Centres Association) and of the "Associação Portuguesa de Franchising" (Portuguese Franchise Association); Representative of Grupo Pão de Açúcar in the "Associação Comercial de Lisboa" (Lisbon Commercial Association) (1989 - 1992).
