At SÉRVULO since 2008, Miguel Gorjão-Henriques is a partner in the European and Competition and Life Sciences. He is a Specialist Lawyer in European and Competition Law (title awarded by the Bar Association, in 2006 and 2012). He holds a Doutoramento (PhD) in Law from the University of Coimbra and the degree of Mestre from the same university, where he also teaches since 1992. He has been a lecturer on post-graduate, master’s and doctoral courses at universities in Portugal and abroad. He is an Arbitrator at the Arbitration Centre of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is a founder of the Association of Portuguese Competition Lawyers (Círculo dos Advogados Portugueses de Direito da Concorrência) and currently its president of the Consultive Council (and as such of the general assembly). He presided to the ICC - Portugal Competition Commission from 2012 to January 2018. He is currently Vice-President of the APDE (Portuguese Association of European Law, member of FIDE) (2018-2023). He was Consultant on EC law matters for INFARMED, the National Authority of Medicines and Health Products, from 2000 to 2007. He was a member of the three-person Commission for the review of the competition law and the creation of the competition authority (2002) and of the working group that evaluated the public consultation on the new competition law before the Ministry of Economy (2011). He is a speaker at national and international colloquia, congresses and conferences, as well as training courses and parliamentary seminars, mainly in the areas of EU, Competition and Pharma Law. He has also authored over 60 books and articles on subjects relating to his areas of specialisation. He joined the Bar Association in 1999.
