Michelle is a member of the corporate and finance team of Carey Olsen in Bermuda and advises on all aspects of commercial and corporate law, with a particular focus on insurance and investment fund law and regulation.
Michelle specialises in the licensing and ongoing regulation of insurance companies and insurance intermediaries, and has considerable experience in mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financing, and alternative risk financing transactions involving insurers and insurance groups. In addition, Michelle regularly advises on investment management, funds, finance and regulatory matters.
Career
Prior to joining Carey Olsen, Michelle was an Associate in the London office of international law firm Reed Smith LLP, having worked in both the investment funds and private equity real estate teams.
Michelle obtained a Master of Arts (LPC with Business) from BPP University, a LLB from King's College London and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) from the University of Waterloo.
Michelle was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2016 (currently non-practising) and was called to the Bermuda Bar in 2019.
