Meghan Devine is a senior associate in the Middle East Construction and Dispute Resolution practice. She is a Scottish qualified solicitor and notary public and is a registered practitioner in the DIFC and ADGM courts.
Meghan has a broad practice which spans the Middle East. She advises clients on negotiating and drafting contracts, risk management, dispute avoidance and dispute resolution across a number of sectors, including transport infrastructure, hotels and banking. Meghan has particular experience advising on complex, multi-billion US dollar international construction, engineering and infrastructure projects across the region.
She regularly acts in arbitrations (both ad hoc and under the major institutional rules) and has experience advising clients on litigation in the DIFC and QFC courts.
Meghan also regularly acts as project counsel on large projects across the region, ranging from luxury hotels to major infrastructure projects. Clients have praised her for her pragmatic and commercial approach to mitigating and resolving disputes during the construction phase.
Meghan is the only lawyer in the region who sits on the Firm's award-winning Responsible Business team. She focuses on promoting and growing our activities in the region in the environmental, I&D, wellbeing, and pro bono and community spaces. She has developed a reputation for promoting women in the construction and dispute resolution sector in the region and is regularly instructed on pro bono mandates, particularly in relation to the protection of the environment and the promotion of gender equality.
