Maxime Cabrera is the Managing Partner of Cabrera Legal in Saint Martin, advising international corporates, entrepreneurs and private clients on complex cross-border matters in the French Caribbean and beyond. His practice centres on private international law and international contracts, combining strong contentious capabilities (civil and commercial litigation and multi-jurisdictional disputes) with strategic advice on international mobility planning and related international tax issues, as well as international family and succession matters. He is regularly sought out for his ability to coordinate multi-country considerations and deliver practical, tailor-made solutions, working fluently in French, English and Spanish.

Career

Admitted to the Bar of Guadeloupe Saint-Martin & Saint-Barthélemy, Maxime founded and has led Cabrera Legal since 2021, after practising as an independent lawyer between Toulouse and Saint Martin and earlier experience in Lyon with Valoris Avocats. Alongside his practice, he has taught private international law (including at Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 and within professional training), and he developed a distinctly international profile through roles in Vietnam (CMA CGM Logistics) and Colombia, including experience with Parra Rodríguez Abogados in Bogotá and published legal commentary as an Asuntos Legales columnist. He holds an advanced degree in International and Comparative Business Law (Ho Chi Minh City), completed the CAPA, and was a semi-finalist in the International French-speaking Mediation Competition—experience that complements his cross-border dispute and negotiation work today.
