Max Lemanski

Max Lemanski is the Managing Partner of the London office. He is a market-leading shipping and offshore energy lawyer with over 20 years' experience, focussing on shipping, shipbuilding, offshore energy and superyacht matters.

His shipping clients include owners and charterers (and their P&I/FD&D clubs), cargo interests, offshore contractor, insurers, investment banks and private equity houses involved in sectors including dry bulk, containerships, all types of tankers, specialist offshore vessels and LNG carriers.

Max’s experience includes both maritime and general litigation and arbitral disputes in the English courts, the ECJ, the LMAA, the LCIA and the ICC.

His non-contentious work includes negotiation of shipbuilding contracts and refund guarantees, and offshore contracts such as EPC contracts and O&M agreements typically acting for owners of FPSOs and other offshore assets. He has worked on dozens of offshore energy projects all over the world and is the co-author of the two leading legal texts for FPSOs and FSRUs/FLNG. He is also an expert in offshore wind and decarbonisation.

In superyachts, Max regularly advises on high value, high profile disputes arising out construction and refurbishment disputes, as well as chartering issues and yacht sale and purchase.
