Matthew handles corporate and commercial disputes.

On the insurance side, Matthew advises clients on various types of insurance products.

Matthew handles criminal litigation. He is in the Fiat List of the Department of Justice and handles prosecution as an advocate. He worked as a public prosecutor for the Department of Justice in 2009.

Matthew’s experience also covers a broad range of shipping matters including charterparty disputes, ship casualties, bunker claims and disputes involving carriage of goods by air, sea and road.

Matthew is recognised in Chambers Greater China 2023 as a leading individual in the area of Shipping Litigation. Chambers states: “Matthew Lam maintains a strong focus on contentious matters and has been active in cargo claims arising out of ship casualties of late.
