Mathias Steinø is a partner in Hafnia Law Firm. Mathias primarily works in litigation and arbitration within insurance, international trade, shipping and general commercial disputes. He is an active advisor on financing and recovery issues to banks and borrowers and has an extensive insurance based client portfolio. Mathias also acts for a variety of stakeholders in oil trading and other commodities.

Mathias has successfully led a number of claims through the Danish Courts. He has many years’ experience in complex international high-value disputes both in litigation and arbitration. Cases involve commercial contracts, professional liability, product liability, insurance claims litigation and cases related to international trading. Mathias was admitted to the Supreme Court in 2012 and elected to the board of the Supreme Court Attorneys' Association.

Mathias lectured at Copenhagen University for 8 years and was elected ‘lecturer of the year’ in 2009. Mathias been an external lecturer at Copenhagen Business School. He is a frequent speaker at international conferences and has received a number of appointments as arbitrator in domestic and international arbitrations including, post M&A, general commercial disputes and international sale of goods.
