Mary Comazzi navigates complex aviation and corporate matters with precision. Leveraging her unique blend of private practice and in-house experience, Mary crafts tailored legal solutions for her clients, often acting in a broad outside counsel capacity, with the bulk of her work focused on aviation-related transactions, operations, and related issues. Mary's approach to problem-solving combines honesty, practicality, and responsiveness, frequently making her indispensable in high-stakes negotiations and an invaluable asset to her clients.
During her tenure as in-house counsel at CHI Aviation, Mary honed her ability to maintain a strategic perspective, overcome obstacles, and facilitate progress. She developed and managed programs impacting every aspect of the business, from human resources to regulatory compliance. This comprehensive experience allows her to more easily anticipate challenges and create innovative strategies grounded in sound legal theory and aligned with each client’s strategic goals.
Mary’s experience includes domestic and foreign-based aircraft transactions, management and leasing agreements, navigating complex Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, tax implications, and export compliance issues. Her determination is even more evident when the stakes are high. Mary immerses herself in the intricacies of each matter, drawing from her diverse background to develop creative solutions that can optimize outcomes in complex circumstances.
Mary also serves on the National Business Aviation Association Tax Committee and as a board member and Philanthropy Chair for the International Aircraft Dealer Association Foundation.
Personal
Beyond the office, Mary’s passion is her family and supporting children's health initiatives. Inspired by her own family experiences, her involvement with the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children's Hospital and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital underscores her commitment to making a meaningful impact in the community.
