Dr Martyn Taylor is a corporate and commercial partner in the competition, trade and regulatory team at Norton Rose Fulbright in Sydney. He has some 30 years’ experience in competition law, advising on matters throughout the world, including drafting competition laws and training regulators. He co-leads the competition and trade group in Australia and heads the telecoms and media group in the Asia-Pacific.

Martyn has extensive qualifications, including a PhD in Competition Law and a Masters in Corporate Finance, as well as post-graduate qualifications in management, economics, and M&A. He has attended Harvard University, Oxford University and Wharton Business School. He has published well over 100 publications, including the award-nominated book ‘International Competition Law' (Oxford University Press, 2005).

Martyn’s practice covers transactional, contentious and advisory. He is a well-known telecoms, media and technology (TMT), infrastructure/utilities, energy, competition and regulatory lawyer. He continues to act in many of Australia’s leading competition matters, including successful outcomes in all 3 of the recent merger matters appealed to the Australian Federal Court

Martyn has been named as one of the 'top 10' TMT legal advisors in Asia. He is recommended by the key legal directories, including Best Lawyers (Competition, Regulatory, Telecommunications). Recent awards include:
