Martin is a leading projects partner who regularly advises companies, government and contractors in relation to the financing and delivery of major energy, infrastructure and construction projects. He is the national head of the firm's Projects, Infrastructure & Construction team and co-head of the Energy & Resources team.
Martin is recognised in the power sector as a leading expert on transactional and regulatory advice for transmission infrastructure, hydrogen, grid scale generation, battery projects, wind and solar farms and water infrastructure. Many of his transactions have been recognised as market leading “firsts” in Australia or internationally, including advising on the first two grid scale battery projects in Australia. He has also advised on some of the most significant electricity transmission infrastructure projects of the last decades.
Martin’s key energy clients include the transmission network service provider ElectraNet who he recently advised in relation to their $2.28bn SA-NSW Interconnector Project known as Project EnergyConnect as well as providing complex regulatory advice on connections and treatment of access policies and contestable assets. He is currently acting for the State Government in SA on the development of a multi-user $13bn hydrogen hub at Port Bonython and also acting for OHPSA on the Hydrogen Jobs Plan, involving construction of the world’s largest hydrogen power station.
