Dr. Martin Kaltwasser specializes in restructuring and insolvency administration. He focuses on judicial restructuring proceedings whereby he handles restructuring proceedings of all sizes and across all industries throughout Germany

Martin is regularly appointed by several insolvency courts in southwestern Germany e.g. Frankfurt, Offenbach, Saarbrücken, Wiesbaden, Darmstadt, Aschaffenburg, Hanau or Fulda as insolvency administrator or trustee in insolvency proceedings. In addition he assists companies throughout Germany in their self-administered restructuring proceedings as general representative.

A particular strength lies in the continuation of operations for companies in crisis with hands on mentality and reliable communication.

Career

Dr. Martin Kaltwasser is partner at LIESER Rechtsanwälte Partnerschaft mbB and responsible for the firms office in Frankfurt. For more than 12 years, where he worked as an expert in the field of insolvency and restructuring law.

Before joining LIESER, Martin worked at the restrucuring/insolvency team of an international law firm in Frankfurt and at an international insolvency administration law firm in Frankfurt, which specialized on bank insolvencies.

Martin was admitted to the bar in 2016. In 2022 he was appointed to insolvency administrator for the first time and in 2024, he acquired his specialist qualification in insolvency and restructuring law.

After studying law in Marburg and Frankfurt (with two years of work experience alongside studies at a regional insolvency administration firm) Martin was an assistant at the Professorship for Civil Law, Insolvency Law, European and International Business Law and completed his doctorate on an insolvency law topic in 2014.
