Practice Areas
Markus Wolf is a partner in the Zurich office and co-head of the Swiss Banking & Finance Practice. He advises clients on all aspects of banking and finance. He has extensive experience advising lenders, borrowers and sponsors on complex, multijurisdictional leveraged acquisition, corporate, project, export and property financing transactions. Markus regularly acts for Swiss and foreign creditors and debtors in domestic and cross-border financial restructurings and formal insolvency procedures.
He authored several articles on banking & finance topics in Swiss and international journals (including the Journal of International Banking and Financial Law, the International Financial Law Review and the Norton Journal of Bankruptcy Law and Practice). He is also a lecturer on private law at the University of St. Gallen (HSG).
Career
Markus previously worked as a Banking & Finance specialist in Baker McKenzie's Sydney office, focusing on project finance and acquisition finance transactions. In 2018 he was seconded to the legal department of one of Switzerland's leading banks, advising on their non-standard lending transactions. Prior to joining Baker McKenzie, he worked with The Boston Consulting Group (BCG). He is also a lecturer on private law at the University of St. Gallen (HSG).
