Mark Broth delivers industry-leading advice on a broad spectrum of employment, municipal, and school law matters, serves on the firm’s Board of Directors, and is the Managing Shareholder for the firm’s New Hampshire-based offices. Mark understands the impact that labor and employment laws have on people’s lives, and his substantial experience makes him the go-to attorney for “hot issues” that need effective representation and resolution.
Mark counsels employers on achieving and maintaining compliance with federal and state employment laws, the development of personnel policies, reductions in force, and employment contracts. Mark is also frequently invited to speak on variety of employment law topics, including sexual harassment, employment discrimination, workplace investigations, employee discipline, collective bargaining and union relations.
Mark is also an experienced litigator, and routinely represents employers in discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, FLSA, whistleblower, wage claim, and FMLA matters before government agencies, including the EEOC, New Hampshire Commission for Human Rights, and state and federal Departments of Labor. Mark also represents employers in collective bargaining, contract administration, grievance and arbitration proceedings, and before the National Labor Relations Board and New Hampshire Public Employees Labor Relations Board.
Mark has consistently been recognized by national and regional publications which rate labor and employment lawyers including Best Lawyers in America, Chambers & Partners USA Guide, and New England Super Lawyers. He was named New Hampshire’s 2014 Lawyer of the Year in the category of Labor Law-Management. He is an elected Fellow of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, the highest recognition by colleagues of sustained outstanding performance in the field of labor and employment law.
