Marcelo Viveiros de Moura has over 35 years of experience in general corporate law, advising Brazilian and international clients on domestic and cross-border landmark M&A transactions.
Marcelo is also an accomplished academic, having served as a professor of corporate law at the Fundação Getulio Vargas Law School and authoring several articles on corporate law, project finance, and oil and gas regulatory matters.
Marcelo has held several prestigious positions, including chairing the British Chamber of Commerce in Brazil, where he now holds a life honorary Board seat. In addition, Marcelo is a board member of the Rio de Janeiro chapter of LIDE, a corporate leaders association.
He is also actively involved in philanthropy, serving as the chairman and president of the Association of Friends of the Parque Lage Visual Arts School and as a board member of Parceiros da Educação, an NGO focused on improving public education in Rio de Janeiro.

Marcelo Viveiros de Moura has been a corporate/M&A partner since 1996. With over 35 years’ experience in general corporate practice, Marcelo has steered some of the country’s most important transactions, having recently represented TIM S.A. in the acquisition of Oi S.A.’s mobile business (together with Telefonica Brasil and Claro S.A.) and Mubadala Capital in the acquisitions of Refinaria Landulpho Alves – RLAM from Petrobras and an equity stake in Atvos Industrial S.A. (formerly, Odebrecht Agroindustrial S.A) from Odebrecht and Lonestar.
Marcelo was a professor of corporate law at the Fundação Getúlio Vargas Law School, and has authored several articles on corporate law, project finance and oil and gas regulatory matters. Marcelo was a member of the board of the Rio de Janeiro Chapter of the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance.
