Career
For more than 40 years, Marcelo Viveiros de Moura has been advising Brazilian and international clients on complex mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and a broad range of corporate matters, particularly in the oil & gas industry and other regulated sectors.
In addition to his legal practice, Marcelo is an academic and thought leader. He has authored numerous articles on corporate law, project finance, and oil & gas regulation, and has taught corporate law at Getulio Vargas Foundation Law School.
Marcelo previously served as chairman of the British Chamber of Commerce in Brazil and currently holds a lifetime honorary seat on its board. He is also a board member of the Rio de Janeiro chapter of LIDE, a Brazilian entity dedicated to connecting business leaders and promoting free enterprise. Deeply committed to philanthropic initiatives, Marcelo serves as chairman and president of Associação de Amigos da Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage and is an officer and board member of Parceiros da Educação, a nonprofit organisation focused on improving public education in Rio de Janeiro.
