Marc has broad experience in advising both domestic and international companies in respect of their tax affairs. He specializes in the tax aspects of M&A transactions, including tax due diligence, tax structuring of transactions, fund structuring, management participations and providing tax advice to investment funds and its investors. Marc also has a special focus in relation to buy and build platforms and provides full-service tax support, including fast-track tax due diligence, tax structuring and assisting with all tax filing obligations.
Marc has extensive experience in the tax aspects of setting up fund structures and management participation structures. Marc is also an external PhD candidate at the Faculty of Law of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam on the national and international aspects of lucrative interest (lucratief belang) and management participation in general. Marc has a special niche focus on all tax aspects relating to management agreements, severance payments, options, equity incentives, share plans, the 30% ruling, management participations and LTIPs and other employment and benefits related matters.
Career
Marc studied Business Administration at the Catholic University of Nijmegen, where he obtained his Master of Science degree in 2004. He subsequently completed a Master of Law at the University of Amsterdam in 2007, specializing in International and European Tax Law. After working four years at Deloitte, Marc joined Allen & Overy LLP in 2010. He was admitted to the Amsterdam Bar in 2010. In March 2019, Marc joined VanLoman.
