Maia Cohen-Lask specialises in both financial and general crime. Maia has represented clients in some of the largest and most high-profile financial crime cases in recent years. This includes advising individuals under investigation or prosecution in the SFO investigations into Barclays, LIBOR, Glencore, and others. This includes cases being investigated and prosecuted by the SFO, NCA, and FCA, as well as cross-border investigations where clients are being investigated in multiple jurisdictions.
Maia also has substantial experience representing clients affected by the UK sanctions regime. This includes applications to the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office and the courts for revocation of designation, as well as representing individuals subject to enforcement action for alleged breach of sanctions.
Maia joined Corker Binning in 2015, having formerly practised at the criminal bar at a Band 1 ranked criminal set. She was promoted to Partner in April 2023.
