Luiz Henrique Cunha

Luiz Henrique Cunha leads the firm's Tax Advisory practice. With more than 17 years of experience, he works across both tax advisory and tax litigation, assisting companies with matters involving direct and indirect taxes, tax planning, corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, international investments, tax credit recovery, tax contingency management, and tax settlements.

In addition to his advisory work, Luiz has extensive experience in tax litigation, with particular emphasis on proceedings before Brazil’s Administrative Council of Tax Appeals (CARF), especially in disputes involving tax planning, corporate restructurings, and income taxation.

He advises clients across a wide range of industries, with a particular focus on mining, construction (including companies operating under public-private partnership arrangements), retail, fuel distribution, food, energy, steel, and technology.

He holds a postgraduate degree in Tax Law from the Brazilian Institute of Tax Law (IBDT) and a law degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC Minas).
