Commercial litigation, construction claims and high-value professional liability. Lucy specialises in high value commercial claims with a particular focus on complex civil fraud. She has recently acted in a series of US$1 billion+ civil fraud disputes. She acts for the claimants in Suppipat and others v Narongdej and others who secured a US$860m judgment following a 20-week trial in the Commercial Court. She recently acted for the successful first defendant in Vale v Steinmetz and others in which fraud and corruption claims were abandoned mid-trial; she acted for Georgy Bedzhamov on a £1 bilion claim brought against him by the former Russian bank VPB; and she represented Oleg Deripaska in long-running and high-value proceedings against Vladimir Chernukhin. Lucy also specialises in construction matters and has extensive experience acting for and against construction companies including leading multinationals in a wide range of disputes. Lucy also acts in high-value and chalenging professional liability claims including in the construction and engineering context. She has a growing offshore practice particularly in Bermuda, the Channel Islands and UAE.
