Lucia Acosta assumed the role of Partner in August 2023, becoming Head of the Dispute Resolution Team and spearheading the Compliance practice.

She specializes in complex, multi-jurisdiction disputes, and has extensive experience in dispute resolution in many fields such as infrastructure, retail, construction, agribusiness, and corporate compliance.

She also has broad experience in litigation related to arbitration, including judicial proceedings for the recognition and enforcement of awards and interim measures in arbitration.

Lucia also brings an innovative approach to the corporate area due to her experience and practice in Transactional Law, where she combines her negotiation, strategical and risk assessment skills with a business mindset, following fast and client-driven timelines in cross-border cases.

Career

Doctor in Law and Social Sciences, graduated from the University of the Republic.

LL.M with an emphasis in Conflict Resolution (Distinction), Queen Mary University of London (United Kingdom), 2018.

Former Aspiring Associate Professor in Procedural Law I and II, Faculty of Law, University of the Republic (Uruguay).

Her practice focuses on dispute negotiations and arbitrations, with extensive experience in Corporate Law, Civil and Commercial Law.

She has an interesting experience as an international intern at Baker McKenzie and at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (London).
