Laura Toncescu coordinates KPMG’s legal practice in Romania and has extensive experience in legal services, with a strong focus on the financial sector. Throughout her career, she has been involved in numerous transactions, with a cumulative value in recent years alone of over EUR 4 billion.

She has led innovative legal projects, such as the authorization of an investment fund as a strategic shareholder (holding the controlling stake) / majority shareholder in a Romanian bank, the first merger between a bank and a non-banking financial institution, as well as authorization processes for payment institutions and online lending providers.

She provides legal assistance to listed entities in connection with stock option plans and stock exchange operations and has been involved in cross-border transactions and complex reorganizations. Over the past year, she has coordinated digitalization projects in various industries and has provided advice on compliance with GDPR regulations.
